The Risk Modeller’s Toolkit (RMTK) is a library of Python scripts and IPython notebooks that provide engineers with tools to create exposure, fragility, and vulnerability input models required for running seismic risk calculations using the OpenQuake engine. The RMTK also includes several tools for post-processing and visualising different results from a seismic risk calculation, including loss exceedance curves, collapse maps, damage distribution, and loss maps.

The Vulnerability module of the RMTK provides a large spectrum of methodologies for deriving robust analytical seismic fragility and vulnerability functions for single structures or building classes, including some of the procedures recommended by the GEM Vulnerability Consortium, as well as other state-of-the-art methods. Significant sources of uncertainty can be identified and propagated through the module, starting from the capacity or pushover curves to the final vulnerability functions.

Forthcoming versions of the Risk Modeller’s Toolkit will make available more methodologies for deriving fragility and vulnerability functions for different building typologies, and include new functionalities enabling modellers to investigate the sensitivity of different modelling assumptions and uncertainty considerations on the final damage and loss results.
